Baked Pears

Ingredients

  • 80g butter      
  • 150g caster sugar
  • 6 pears
  • Lemon juice

Method

  1. You can also add a vanilla bean, citrus peel or cinnamon stick if you wish.
  2. Preheat oven to 150C.
  3. Peel pears, half lengthways, remove cores and roll in melted butter.
  4. Turn fruit so it is cut side down in a baking dish and scatter with sugar.
  5. Drizzle over lemon juice and add other flavouring.
  6. Cover tightly with a doubled sheet of foil and bake for 2 hours.
  7. Serve with double cream or ice-cream.
